We’ve been dranking, we’ve been dranking… but unlike Bey + Jay we are not in drunk in love, we are drunk on hate, envy and whatever other emotions you’d like to list. However, the only positive about being childish and eaten alive by our own hatred, and petty design feuds is that at least we are learning about cocktail making.
Our favourite libation of self commiseration is a Whisky Sour. Anyway… we supped on that while giving this suite the thug tears treatment.See Some More Post a comment (1)
Gotta love a bit of wisdom from Will, today’s wedding wisdom is from Shakespeare
London based jewellery designer Alex Monroe, has been designing and making jewellery for over 25 years. Strongly inspired by nature and British eccentricity, Alex’s jewellery is elegant with a whimsical charm that makes it very much his own. He has also worked on unique collaborations with such luminaries as the Victoria & Albert Museum, the British Legion, Kew Gardens, Penhaligon’s and Burt’s Bees and continues to create bespoke jewellery for clients as well as working on future collaborations yet to be revealed.
Having undergone training at the Sir John Cass School of Art in London, Alex started making his own jewellery in 1986 out of a small workshop in a picturesque, Victorian cobbled yard in south London. To this day, all of his jewellery is still hand made by a team of highly skilled jewellers in that same studio.
Alex makes all of his original designs by hand using traditional jewellery making techniques, and he will often craft his own tools to help with the creation of a new piece. After his initial sketches, he will move to his bench. Here he will start working directly into pieces of silver to create the original item. Working with silver instead of wax allows him to achieve the high levels of detail and texture that are such a feature of his jewellery.
Available all around the world, from independent boutiques, to prestigious department stores such as Liberty and Harrods, and his own little boutique in south London and online at www.alexmonroe.com as ever we have picked a few fabulous favourite things.
