The G&T
makes one cocktail

W&P Design - The Spring Gin & Tonic (3)

1 shot gin
1/4 shot lime juice
3 slices cucumber (plus 2 for garnish)
2 sprigs mint (plus 1 for garnish)
Boylan Heritage Tonic

W&P Design - The Spring Gin & Tonic (1)

1) Add the cucumber and mint to the Mason Shaker, and muddle until crushed.
2) Add the lime juice and gin to the Shaker. Add ice to above the liquid, and shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
3) Strain the mixture into a collins glass, fill with Boylan Heritage Tonic, and garnish with remaining cucumber and mint.

We’ve been having ourselves a little summer holiday – hence the absence over the week.  But, it will be back to a normal schedule on Monday.

We do have to do our Friday duty and with our friends W&P Design, we are here to give a you a drink a dress and a dance.

W&P Design - Toasted Coconut Rum

Plural it’s drinks this week… check out this delicious double.

Toasted Coconut Rum

makes 12 oz

1.5 cups of dried unsweetened coconut

12 oz of aged rum

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the coconut on an unlined baking sheet and toast in oven for 10 minutes (or until slightly browned.) Let cool.
  2. Combine the coconut and rum in a 16 oz Mason jar. Seal and shake for 30 seconds.
  3. Let sit at room temperature for three days, shaking once a day.
  4. Strain through cheesecloth, squeezing out any excess liquid.
  5. Use in cocktails (like The Brooklyn Beach Chair here) or simply served over ice. The infusion will keep in the refrigerator for up to three months.

makes one cocktail

2 & 1/4 oz of Toasted Coconut Rum

1/2 oz of lime juice

3/4 oz of coconut cream

1 & 1/2 oz of pineapple juice

Freshly grated nutmeg (for garnish)

1) Combine the Toasted Coconut Rum, lime juice, coconut cream and pineapple juice in the Mason Shaker.

2) Add ice to above the liquid and shake for 10 seconds.

3) Strain into a chilled tumbler filled with crushed ice and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
