They were our stand buddies at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show, and a few weeks ago the lovelies even made us Welsh Cakes that the postie dropped off for us *baked goods drool*. You would think that would make us friends, at the very least comrades in design arms with Illustries… but helllz to the naaaaaawwwww. We can’t be bought with food, nor love; the bonds of friendship mean naught to use when it comes to design.
We are still filled with to the brim with both welsh cakes and envy. Custom graphic gorgeousness and memory book magic stuff… Illustries we still despise you! (We still love your baking though!)
Do you know how much money this design onslaught is costing us! How much weekly therapy sessions cost… you don’t event wanna know the outlay in wine to go along with our whine! Have some mercy, but oh no here is Rachael Ward, whose unconscionable design torture has left us teetering at the brink. Guess who’ll be doing childhood regression therapy for a 2 hour session this week kids?
Oh, Rachael Ward how could you!… *shakes head and tries to stop the tears…gives up and runs out of the room sobbing*
Self flagellation, a deep rooted desire to attack our own fragile esteem, being a bit messed in the head, masochism… these are some of the reasons we think that we torture ourselves with other peoples’ design work. It is a sick sad shame, an unwholesome behaviour that takes us to dark places that frequently leaves us crying in corner – however like most bad relationships we won’t stop/can’t stop. We have become rather accustomed to the world of pain that we have constructed for ourselves.
So, here it is the visual equivalent of being stabbed in the eyes(in a well designed, perfectly kerned way!) These puppies comes courtesy (no sure if that is the right vernacular – can pain ever be a courtesy) of Inck. *kisses teeth* Damn you to design hell… we’d love to say ‘Inck, you stink!’ but your work hurts so good. *walks off to have a tequila sunrise in lieu of the fact that there is no sunrise – that perfect moment when the weather has synergised with your mood*
Cute prints, custom tape, and lovely postcards… we are overcome with love as these gorgeous designs from Seventy Tree (the design brain child of Kerry Layton, a London Based creator) have sent us to a nice and fluffy place.
Fluffy like a longhaired cat, rolling around in a bed of cotton wool, fluffy like super aerated scrambled eggs… you know the kind that taste like little eggy clouds. All we know is that right now we are feeling the design love as opposed to hate.
So, yeah huzzahs and handclaps brunch time for lovely designs that made our souls smile, they are that nice *happy sigh* (don’t get used to this happy and non-envious style… it won’t last!) Check out her Etsy too!
